foreign. Our family also includes many traveling instructors who stop over in Malaysia to join us in encouraging dance.
We are each specialists in our own fields and are committed to introducing dance as well as exploring your potential -

Peter & Lavinie   Two bohemians who enjoy Latin music and dance tremendously. From ballet backgrounds, these two ventured into Dancesport (ie. the Cha Cha Cha, Rhumba, Samba Jive and Paso Doble) whilst at university and have been a very successful competition pair winning many championship titles in the process. After getting their law degrees and their Masters, they've since given up on the corporate world to live la vida loca. Crazy, right? Apart from dancing, Peter's occasionally busy with his opera and musical productions and Lavi is busy with her new baby!   Melissa   Our resident cili padi who loves to get into the groove with the latest hip-hop beats. She's been dancing since her school-days and has since performed in various productions featuring contemporary, jazz and hip-hop choreography. She's also a certified Pilates instructor to boot. Oh yes, did we mention that she's got abnormal levels of energy as well?   Bronya   A proud mom of three who still can't hang up those dancing shoes! One of Malaysia's more renowned Line Dancing instructors, she's a creative lady whose special blend of latin, jazz, and line dancing will make sure you're a hit at any party. Just mention anything related to dance, and she perks up!   Roshni   Corporate climber by day, bootylicious mama by night! Has been an active Dancesport competitor since her days in England and has never looked back since. Into anything Latin, she is now concentrating on the pulsating rhythms and moves of Latin American- style Salsa... although she still loves her Cha Cha Cha, Rhumba & Samba, and will take on a good Jive or Paso anytime...   Fiona   Has been dancing Standard and Latin Dancesport dances since her wee years. The youngest teacher on board, she has a close affinity for kids and teaching them is one of her specialties. Dancing is her distraction from college work so she’s in here quite often!   Shane   Has also been dancing in Dancesport since childhood; he’s carried on dancing throughout his studies in Australia and is back here for good – still dancing away. Don’t let his quiet exterior fool you…he’s a meanie on the dance floor!   Luby   The mama of Salsa in Malaysia, this Venezualian lady has got all the moves to get you going in any Salsa bar! You can’t miss her vibrant energy, her loud voice and her big hair! If you ask her out for a dance, you’ll find out about fuoco latino first hand.   Ginny   Another disenchanted corporate person who’s decided to do something else with her life and is now a certified Pilates instructor. She’s also passionate about Yoga having studied it for 5 years and now combines the two for a living. Don’t underestimate her…her abs are a lot stronger than most of us!   Quek   The acrobatic one in our family. Fond of standing on his head, elbows, hands…anything but his feet! Also plays musical instruments and sings – when he’s not standing on his head and doing flips. Describes himself as a hyuppie (hippie-yuppie) who discovered the magic of Capoeira whilst at university in the USA and is its champion here in Malaysia.   Paola   A cosmopolitan lady from Yugoslavia, she has lived in many countries before coming to Malaysia, absorbing everything and anything dance related and has developed her own style of contemporary belly dancing.   Marguerite   A super-hot grand-mom whom you can find regularly in Little Havana or QBar dancing the night away. She’s been instrumental in the development of Argentine Tango here in Malaysia and has been dancing for the longest time. She brings to her classes her love of the Tango which she exudes in perfect poise and grace.   Lili   Our Thai Dance Mania / Street Dance / Hip-hop instructor who has been teaching the groove ever since qualifying from 4 different institutions in London and Bangkok. Her style of dance is a very interesting mix of jazz and hip-hop which is straight out of MTV music videos!   Oggie   One of our visiting Tango instructors, he hails from the Philippines and travels all over the world to dance and to give classes. With an innate passion for the Tango, he brings to his classes the latest developments in the world of Tango and can also be found often at Little Havana and QBar when he’s down in KL.   Anwaar   A huge fan of Bollywood, he’s got a team of Malaysia’s finest Bollywood dancers who perform regularly. This multi-talented guy will get you spinning, gyrating, and pumping to the latest Bollywood music and dance styles – and if you ask, he may even sing for you!   Doris   The mother of us all at The Dance Space! Our studio manager has a remarkable talent for cooking and baking…if you’re nice to her, she can whip up one superb tau-foo-fa and we can all share it after a hectic class! Home-made some more – don’t pray-pray! Must be her Nyonya genes.
